How to Edit and Save Nutrition Information in Recipes

Use this page when you need to correct specific nutrient values, adjust serving size, or fine-tune the Nutrition Facts label after an analysis. Manual edits are optional—most users can rely on the automated analysis.

Info: Making changes to Servings or Ingredients will require re-analysis.

Caution: Manual edits may not reflect accurate nutritional information.

Open the Nutrition Editor

  1. Go to My Recipes → open a recipe → click Edit Recipe.

  1. Switch to the Edit Nutrition Information tab.

You’ll see a live Nutrition Facts preview on the right and editable fields on the left.

Edit & Save

  1. Update fields in the sections you need (see all sections below).
  2. In Visible Nutrients, toggle nutrients on/off to show or hide them on the label.
  3. Click Save Changes to apply your edits.
  4. After saving, scroll to the Nutrition Facts Label and click Download as Image to save the label graphic.

Reset to defaults: Click Reload Original Values to revert to the values from the latest analysis.

Sections in “Edit Nutrition Information”

Use the sections below to target only what you need—small updates are often enough.

  • Basic Information

Serving Size and other top-line fields that affect the label header and per-serving context.

  • Visible Nutrients

Toggle which nutrients appear on the Nutrition Facts label (e.g., hide rarely used lines, keep key ones visible).

  • Fats

Edit Total Fat and subcomponents (e.g., Saturated Fat, Trans Fat) as needed.

  • Other Nutrients

Adjust values such as Cholesterol, Sodium, Total Sugars, Added Sugars, Dietary Fiber, etc.

  • Carbohydrates

Fine-tune Total Carbs and related sub-fields, ensuring they align with fiber/sugar edits.

  • Protein

Enter or correct Protein per serving.

  • Vitamins & Minerals

Update micronutrients (e.g., Calcium, Iron, Potassium, vitamins A–K, Folate, etc.).

Tip: If you made ingredient or serving changes, re-analyze first, then only use manual edits to fix edge cases (rounding, brand-specific packaging, or missing items).

Best Practices

  • Keep units consistent with your analysis.
  • Prefer re-analysis after ingredient/serving changes; reserve manual edits for minor corrections.
  • Use Visible Nutrients to simplify the label for your audience while retaining accuracy.
